The wedding took place at the Shaar Ha’Shamayim Synagogue. Henry and Sarah had eight children, five sons and three daughters.

Once i found this clipping in the social pages of the Waco newspaper, I was able to date the above photo and understand the occasion and significance of the family gathering. You might note that Mordechai was very busy in 1936 and 1937, traveling to Montreal to see his brother Lazer and traveling to Chernovitz to visit his sister Pessia.

My grandfather Jack Scott was one of 8 children so naturally there was a lot of cousin-love. This photo is rare evidence that the grandchildren of the original Tkacz knew each other, at least a little bit :)

all children are descendants of Lazer : the Labows’ great-grandmother was Pearl Scott Labow & the Shapiros’ great-grandfather was Jack Scott. All seven kids share Henry Tkacz Scott and Sarah Toulchinsky Scott as their great-great grandparents.
